Beyond lisp is a page derived from John McCarthy's ideas on ILC 2005 Except he used heavy duty set theory http://www.international-lisp-conference.org/2005/speakers.html#john_mccarthy Since "heavy duty set theory" is vague I instead chose group theory. That is something I at least understand.

I have started to rethink lisp from the bottom up. Lists are still important part of the language. This is the result of a few emails with John McCarthy about his recent lecture (ILC 2006). I have been thinking about this idea for awhile and have recently had a deeper insight into introducing a new datatype for sets. Instead we replace lists with a important abstraction in mathematics.
